Phil Cefaratti for Council Sign

I was wondering about all of the election signs that are around Carlyle and in Alexandria. I noticed this sign, located outside the Whole Foods Market in our neighborhood, and wondered how it is determined where they are placed? Stay with me a moment here.

Phil Cefaratti has signs all over Alexandria. The Democrats, the Mayor, Paul Smedberg, Tim Lovain, Del Pepper, Justin Wilson and Rob Krupicka seem to have concentrated themselves West of the City down Duke Street, in Del Ray and up on the Seminary Hill. Frank Fannon seems to have concentrated his signs on Route 1 and in Old Town.

My question then becomes do the candidates think they don’t need our vote by not placing signs in our neighborhood? I am NOT advocating having the Republican and Democratic committees deluge us with signage, it was just a thought. What do you think?

Also a reminder that the Westin Alexandria will be hosting a City Council candidate forum thursday night from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Be sure to get there early to grab a seat. If you can’t make it, check your Comcast channel guide as Comcast is taping all of the debates and broadcasting them on a local channel.
