New Ramp to Huntington Ave Opens

It looks like the folks over at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project have opened both bridges over Telegraph Road. The outer loop exit at Telegraph Road south now splits into two. The right ramp takes you up to North Kings Highway, the other to Huntington Ave. On the North Kings Highway ramp, you can either turn onto Telegraph Road or you can go on the bridge and up and over Telegraph Road without stopping. The Huntington Ave ramp also splits into two (soon will split into threee ways to go – more on that later) ways. One is so that you can continue toward Telegraph Road then be able to turn onto Telegraph. The other takes you onto a bridge and up and over Telegraph Road and onto Huntington Ave without stopping.

The folks over at the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project have also blocked off the left turn onto Huntington Ave. Drivers will HAVE to proceed about 1 block further and use the new ramp located just before the North Kings Highway intersection on the right (see below).

You can go a decent speed up the ramp (I wouldn’t propose going near or over 50). See photo below:

Once you are on the bridge, watch out for the traffic coming off of the Beltway from you left. I had two cars pass me that were doing a pretty decent rate of speed. Once on the bridge, proceed over Telegraph Road and down to Huntington (See below). At the bottom of the bridge, you have to make a hard left then a hard right onto Huntington Ave. So, you don’t want to be going real fast at this point. The point being, you will need to slow down at the bottom of the bridge. In the coming week, I’ll try and get some shots coming off of the Beltway. Any questions? Leave them in the comments below.
