Flash Flood Watch – Alexandria

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for the Metropolitan area including Alexandria from 7 p.m. Sunday through Monday morning.  A cold front is approaching the area this afternoon with heavy rainfall expected. Amounts in excess of 1 inch per hour, and total rain fall total of 2-3 inches of rain are possible. This may cause streams and creeks to come out of their banks, and may also cause street flooding in low lying areas.
