Flooding To Continue In Alexandria Tonight

by Lee Hernly, Editor

If you’re down near the waterfront in Alexandria, please keep in mind that there is a coastal Flood Warning that remains in effect until midnight Tuesday for the District of Columbia, Arlington County and the city of Alexandria.

Freshwater input into the tidal Potomac will be great enough to sustain moderate coastal flooding in Washington DC and Arlington and possibly in Alexandria today for the next two high tides.

Water levels are expected to be 7 to 9 ft above flood stage level at Wisconsin Avenue today.

Here are the times of the next high tide:

Key Bridge – 10:08 PM
Alexandria – 10:01 PM
