ICYMI: Foster’s Grille In The Alexandria Times

In case you missed it: Foster’s Grille, the new burger joint in our neighborhood, was featured recently in the July 8 issue of the Alexandria Times in their ‘Let’s Eat’ column.

Zach Warder writes (PDF file – opens in a new window):

The idea of a quick-service restaurant with high-quality fresh food and a family-friendly atmosphere is something that every diner desires. Unfortunately, it is an idea that is rarely realized, as restaurants scarcely are able to deliver on all three fronts.

But Foster’s Grille on Eisenhower Avenue is the gleaming light at the end of the tunnel for all those downtrodden restaurant goers who can’t find a reliable and tasty place to take the family and enjoy a meal. This casual restaurant is just plain fun!

Shawn Foster, president and manager at Foster’s Grille, is experienced and well acquainted with the D.C. area. He was appointed a corporate chef for The Palm Restaurants from 1991 to 1998. But it was in 1999 that Shawn decided to branch out and he opened the first Foster’s Grille restaurant in Manassas.

It was only a matter of time after opening of the first Foster’s Grille that the concept took off and, within five years, the company had grown to six locations in Northern Virginia while developing a positive reputation in the marketplace. It is Shawn Foster’s drive and devotion that have made Foster’s Grille such a success story.

Indeed, one of his core values is that “we must constantly strive for perfection with the realization that it may never be achieved.”

A brand new Foster’s Grille has just opened at 2004 Eisenhower Avenue. The new Foster’s Grille is independently owned and operated by Bruce and Lauren Catts. The Catts love their hard working staff and strive for a fun, relaxed environment for
all ages. There is plenty of park ing to be found and it is close to both the Eisenhower Metro and the AMC Hoffman movie
theatre, making this new and exciting restaurant close and easily accessible.

Although grit and determination are certainly a must for a restaurant to achieve success, food quality and service are just as important. And Foster’s Grille is well aware of this notion, which is why they make food that leaves customers desiring more as soon as they take their first bite. The first thing everyone thinks about when it comes to Foster’s Grille is their famous old fashioned charburger. It is 8 ounces of pure deliciousness that is complemented well by their superb fresh hand-cut fries. Foster’s buffalo wings are also a must-have as they offer an authentic taste that can be hard to match in the DC metropolitan area.

Foster’s Grille also offers regular daily specials that run through a seven-day cycle and range from southwest chicken to Philly cheese steaks with grilled onions and provolone.

When it comes to beverages, look no further than Foster’s thick, hand-made milkshakes. They’re the perfect compliments to their burgers, dogs, wings, chicken fingers and fresh cut fries.

Foster’s Grille also has taken a unique approach to the ordering process. Rather than have a waiter take your order, customers mark their orders on tear-off menu pads at the counter. This makes the ordering process quick and painless and allows the customer to just relax and take in the enjoyable atmosphere.

Foster’s Grille has all the elements of a great family restaurant that time after time delivers great dining experiences complemented by delicious food and beverages. So, if a restaurant that combines high quality food, energetic service and a relaxed, upbeat family-friendly neighborhood environment sounds good to you, then Foster’s Grilles is right up your alley.
