The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Washington metropolitan region, including the City of Alexandria, beginning at 2 p.m. today and ending late tonight. Residents and businesses are urged to be alert for flash flooding, particularly along streams and rivers and in low-lying areas. High waters may be on the roadways, and residents are urged to use caution when driving. The City of Alexandria is monitoring weather conditions and will respond appropriately as conditions warrant.
