A Rainy Day In Alexandria Wouldn’t Be Complete w/o A Coastal Flood Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Warning for the City of Alexandria through midnight tonight. The warning extends through tonight’s high tide, which is expected at 9:30 p.m. 

Residents and businesses along coastal areas should be alert for rising water and take appropriate actions. The City of Alexandria is monitoring weather conditions and will respond appropriately as conditions warrant.

The flood warning reads as follows:

…COASTAL FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT
TONIGHT…

THE COASTAL FLOOD WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT
TONIGHT.

* TIDAL ANOMALY…2.0 TO 2.5 FEET ABOVE NORMAL.

* TIMING…NEAR TIMES OF HIGH TIDE THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* EXPECTED IMPACTS…MODERATE SHORELINE INUNDATION.
THE NEXT TWO HIGH TIDES AT ALEXANDRIA ARE 955 AM AND 930 PM.

Instructions: A COASTAL FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT. COASTAL RESIDENTS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RISING WATER AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.
