Virginia Absentee Ballot Deadline Today

by Lee Hernly, Editor

My Fox DC reports:

The deadline for voters to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot is approaching.

The State Board of Elections says the deadline to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot is Tuesday at 5 p.m.

But, those planning to vote absentee in-person have more time.

Officials say eligible voters can vote absentee at local registrars’ offices through Saturday.

A person looking to vote absentee must have a valid reason by law. Those include pregnancy, work or school commitments that prevent a voter from getting to the polls, military service, and disability or illness.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that mail-in absentee ballots must be received by election officials as of 7 p.m. on Election Day.
