Zikrayet Moving To Eisenhower East Shops

Zikrayet, the Middle Eastern/Lebanese restaurant, formerly located in Carlyle, is moving.

At the upcoming City Council Public Hearing, one of the items of the docket is Special Use Permit (S.U.P.) #2011-0072 which would move the restaurant/night club into the Eisenhower East Shops next to Foster’s Grille, the Hunan Cafe, and the new Japanese restaurant which has yet to open (see map below). One of the issues which the Planning Commission City staff recommended against and the Planning Commission concurred was allowing the restaurant/night club to be open very late until the wee hours of the early morning.

Zikrayet was originally in the the 500 block of John Carlyle Street however, it was an extremely bad neighbor to the residents of the Carlyle Square Condominium complex as this video shows.

The Public Hearing is slated for next Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council chambers.
