Numerous Closures on Beltway and
Telegraph Road Interchange Area March 12-18

Motorists strongly urged to use alternate routes to avoid delays

Weather permitting, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will continue conducting Capital Beltway, Telegraph Road interchange and other area closures March 12-18. Variable message signs will be posted to alert drivers and provide detour information when necessary. This work will have significant impacts on Beltway and local traffic, and motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. The scheduled work is as follows.

TELEGRAPH ROAD INTERCHANGE AND AREA CLOSURES

Monday, Mar. 12 through Thursday, Mar. 15 DAILY from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and Friday, Mar. 16 DAYTIME from 9 a.m. to noon:

  • The ramp from Telegraph Road South to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for bridge construction. Detour: Motorists should take the Huntington Avenue ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 North to the on-ramp to the Outer Loop.
  • The ramp from Telegraph Road South to N. Kings Highway will be closed for bridge construction. Detour: Motorists should take the Huntington Avenue ramp to Huntington Avenue East to U.S. Route 1 South to N. Kings Highway.

Monday, Mar. 12 through Thursday, Mar. 15 DAILY from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and Friday, Mar. 16 DAYTIME from 9:30 a.m. to noon:

  • The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Motorists should continue to Duke Street East to U.S. Route 1 South to the Outer Loop.

Monday, Mar. 12, Thursday, Mar. 15 and Sunday, Mar. 18 NIGHTLY from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:

  • Telegraph Road North will be closed at the Beltway. Also, Pershing Avenue access to Telegraph Road North will be closed. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue to Eisenhower Avenue eastbound to the traffic circle to Holland Lane to Duke Street.

Tuesday, Mar. 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • The ramp from Telegraph Road North to the Duke Street East will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Motorists should continue to Duke Street West to the Service Road and make a U-turn onto Duke Street East.

CAPITAL BELTWAY CLOSURES

Monday, Mar. 12 through Wednesday, Mar. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • The exit ramp from the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) to Telegraph Road South will be closed for roadway construction. Detour: Motorists should take the Eisenhower Connector exit to Eisenhower Avenue East to Mill Road East to Telegraph Road South.

Monday, Mar. 12 through Wednesday, Mar. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.:

  • The right lane of the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) will be closed from Telegraph Road to the bridge over Cameron Run for roadway construction.

Monday, Mar. 12, Thursday, Mar. 15 and Sunday, Mar. 18 NIGHTLY from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning:

  • The ramp from the Capital Beltway Inner Loop (I-95/495 South) to Telegraph Road North will be closed for bridge construction. Pershing Avenue will also be closed during this time. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp from Telegraph Road North to Eisenhower Avenue, turn right on Eisenhower Avenue and continue to Holland Lane to Duke Street.
  • The ramp from the Capital Beltway Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) to Telegraph Road North will be closed for bridge construction. Detour: Motorists should take the ramp to Eisenhower Avenue, turning right onto Eisenhower Avenue and continuing to Holland Lane to Duke Street.

Please use caution when traveling in this area. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
