Coming Soon To Eisenhower East – The Park Meridian

The City Council on Saturday June 15 approved a beautiful new residential tower for block 19 in the Eisenhower East area just outside our Carlyle neighborhood near the old ATA building. This will be a LEED certified building that will have 30-32 affordable housing units. This will be the third Paradigm building with Meridian in the name in the Carlyle/Eisenhower East neighborhood.

For more information about the project, visit this link. To see staff’s presentation to the City Council, visit this link (PDF).

Above is a rendition of how the project will look from Carlyle.

Here a diagram looking over head at the project:

Isn’t this location where they talked about the Hoffman Towers, rising to 33 stories?

Wonder what happened to that one.

Hi Jay – the 33 story complex will be going in eventually in South Carlyle near where Holland Lane and Eisenhower Ave meet.

I guess I’m confused. I talked with Planning and they said the Hoffman Towers are going up in between metro and the Park Meridian. A couple of years ago it got a lot of buzz at the DC Mud blog, saying it would be one of the tallest buildings in the area.

The City threatened to take property from Charles Hooff (also covered here on this blog – through eminent domain for the express purposes of expanding the Sanitation authority (ASA) as the ASA is required to expand to get rid of more pollutants (nitrogen I think) before water is returned to the river… Read more »
