If you have never been to the Vasos Kitchen location on Powhatan Street, a new location is opening closer to the Carlyle/Eisenhower East area. Can you say yummy?
The owner of Vaso’s Kitchen is preparing a second location at the former Bistrot Lafayette space on King Street.
Vaso Volioti hopes to open the new Vaso’s in July.
The cuisine will remain similar to the Greek, Italian and other Mediterranean concoctions dished out underneath the old Dixie Pig sign on Powhatan Street, but with a few new offerings.
“We’re going to change the menu a little bit,” Volioti said. “More homemade pasta and I’ll have some good veal.”
The King Street restaurant will also feature a larger wine selection, beers on draft, brunch service on Saturday and Sunday and live music on the weekends, she said.
Work continues on an interior renovation at 1118 King St., including some new furnishings and kitchen improvements.
Vaso’s family members are involved in several businesses along King Street, including Taverna Cretekou and King’s Jewelry.
