‘Freeze Watch’ Upgraded to ‘Freeze Warning’ For the DMV

nws-logoThe ‘Freeze Watch‘  I told you about earlier has been upgraded to a ‘Freeze Warning‘ from the National Weather Service. The ‘Freeze Warning’ is in effect for the Washhington D.C. area (DMV), including the City of Alexandria, from 2 a.m. late Wednesday night until 9 a.m. Thursday.

Now I know Mother Nature is just toying with us…

...FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 9 AM EDT THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BALTIMORE MD/WASHINGTON HAS
ISSUED A FREEZE WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 9 AM
EDT THURSDAY. THE FREEZE WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TEMPERATURES...LOWS IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S LATE TONIGHT.

* TIMING...LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...UNPROTECTED COLD-SENSITIVE VEGETATION WILL BE
  KILLED OR DAMAGED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FREEZE WARNING MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED.
THESE CONDITIONS WILL KILL SENSITIVE CROPS AND OTHER VEGETATION.
