The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) is hosting its annual Green Fair today in the South Madison Auditorium. The fair is normally held the third week of April to coincide with Earth Day.
The fair showcases ways employees and their families can encourage energy conservation in the workplace and at home. The fair focuses on the many green practices and standards that the USPTO has adopted at its Alexandria campus, which includes implementing efficient energy conservation measures; recycling paper, glass, and cans; teleworking; using public transportation; and reducing food waste through packaging.
As a highlight, the fair has two Tesla vehicles and a Chevy Volt on display (see above).
