Her dropping out leaves eight candidates (8) in the race for the Democratic nomination for Jim Moran’s old seat in Congress. She has endorsed Don Beyer for the nomination which should not surprise anyone.

Del. Charniele Herring withdrew from the crowded ten-person race for the Democratic nomination in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District, endorsing former lieutenant governor and ambassador Don Beyer.

“After much reflection and conversations with several candidates, I am convinced that Don Beyer is committed to defending our progressive values in Congress – and that’s why I am proud to announce my endorsement of Don Beyer for Congress in Virginia’s 8th District,” Herring said in an email to supporters.
