A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from the National Weather Service for the metropolitan Washington area, including the City of Alexandria, Virginia from NOW until 1:00 PM today (5/30/2014).

…COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON…

* TIDAL ANOMALY…BETWEEN 1.0 FT AND 1.5 FT ABOVE NORMAL.

* TIMING…NEAR HIGH TIDE THIS MORNING. HIGH TIDE HAS ALREADY
OCCURRED AT ALEXANDRIA AND IN WASHINGTON DC. HIGH TIDE WILL
OCCUR AT HAVRE DE GRACE AT 11:30 AM.

* EXPECTED IMPACTS…MINOR COASTLINE INUNDATION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY INDICATES THAT ONSHORE WINDS AND TIDES
WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE FLOODING OF LOW AREAS ALONG THE SHORE.
