Hooffs Run Park (a.k.a. 'Blue' Park) in Del Ray Alexandria, Virginia

Work Begins Week of August 11

Pre-Construction Meeting Scheduled for August 6

Planned construction and renovation activities at the Hooffs Run Park Playground, located at 99 E. Rosemont Ave., begin the week of August 11. Weather permitting, construction will conclude in approximately eight weeks. The renovation includes removal and replacement of play equipment, new rubberized safety surfacing, drainage improvements, and restoration plantings.

Construction activities require the closing of the playground. Visitors are encouraged to use nearby playgrounds located at Sunset Park, 4 Sunset Dr., and Beach Park, 201 Rucker Pl., during the construction. For a comprehensive directory of City playgrounds, visit the Project Play website.

The Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities will hold a community pre-construction meeting to respond to any questions on Wednesday, August 6, 6:30 p.m., at the playground. The meeting is cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Additional information about the playground renovation is available by visiting the Hoofs Run Playground information at this link.

Residents not able to attend the pre-construction meeting or to obtain additional information, contact Judy Lo, Landscape Architect, at 703.746.5490.
