Roads Closed in Washington DC? Heading to Nats Park? Take the Baseball Boat

Baseball Boat at the Alexandria Marina on the Potomac River waterfront in Alexandria, Virginia

ICYMI, roads are closed in the Washington DC area for the Africa summit. Beginning tonight (8/5), the Washington Nationals are taking on the New York Mets at Nationals Park in D.C. in a three game series. Instead of driving, consider skipping the traffic and ride the Potomac Riverboat Company’s ‘Baseball Boat’ to the game located in Southeast Washington D.C.

If you buy your tickets online, you get free parking. Cruise time is about 30 minutes (sure beats driving or a Metrorail train) and departs from the stadium 20 minutes after the last pitch. Boat operates for 80% of Nationals games – check website for specific available dates. Times vary upon Nationals schedule and tickets cost One-way $15; Round-trip $25.
