A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from the National Weather Service for the metropolitan Washington area, including the City of Alexandria, Virginia from NOW until midnight TONIGHT.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is issued when minor or nuisance coastal flooding is occurring or imminent. Coastal Flood Advisories are issued for coastal areas along the Tidal Potomac River and areas along the Chesapeake Bay.
