Construction Starting Soon on New Seminary Road Pedestrian Bridge

Seminary Road Alexandria, Virginia

In early December, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin construction of a new pedestrian walkway over I-395. This construction is part of the $80 Million construction of a new HOV ramp/auxiliary lane that will serve the Mark Center.

The new walkway will be on a separate bridge, with fencing and gently sloping ramps, making it easier and safer for everyone. To construct this bridge, pedestrians and bicyclists will be temporarily detoured to a barrier-protected walkway on Seminary Road.

The new pedestrian bridge will be open in late spring 2015.
