Alexandria Police Investigate Robbery on Bike Path

Incident Occurred Near Princess Street

APD badgeOn Sunday, Jan. 11 at approximately 12:20 a.m., a robbery occurred on the bike path along the Metro. The male victim had gotten off the Metro at the King Street Station and was walking northbound on the bike path. When he was just passed Princess Street while still on the bike path, he was accosted from behind. The suspect demanded he drop the duffle bag he was carrying and also demanded his wallet. The suspect took both items and fled on foot.

It is believed that he fled in a waiting white Ford Bronco eastbound on Princess Street. The victim never got a look at the suspect and believes the suspect was a male from his voice.

If you have any information on this, please call Lieutenant Compton at 703-746-6637.
