As readers know, there are four different proposals (see below) up for consideration for a proposed Metro station in the Potomac Yard neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia.

The proposed station would be located on the Blue and Yellow lines, between the Braddock Road and Reagan National Airport Metrorail stations. The station would be paid for by developers and through the special tax district set up by the City in 2011. Virginia Governor announced a $50 Million dollar loan for the project in January.

During a meeting this past Thursday, WMATA board members got a closer look at the four possible locations (see below) for the proposed Metro station in the Potomac Yard neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia. The Metro committee then voted in favor of a future public hearing on the proposed Potomac Yard Metrorail Station. The public hearings could start as early as late April where residents and interested parties will be allowed to give their feedback on the four (4) sites.

I’m told from sources that the draft environmental impact statement for this project could be released by the end of the month to coincide with the hearings.
