- Lecture on General Braddock’s Expedition in 1755 – After celebrating General Braddock’s arrival in Alexandria, Virginia, 260 years ago, come for an afternoon of history and learning at The Lyceum in Old Town on Sunday, March 29th. Join us for two presentations on General Braddock and his journey and ultimate defeat on the battlefield at the Monongahela River during the French and Indian War featuring Robert Messner, Director of the Braddock Battlefield Museum and Eugene Scheel, mapmaker and local historian. Please check the website for details on the schedule. Seating is limited and tickets can be purchased in advance. This event is co-sponsored by Carlyle House and the Office of Historic Alexandria.
