Documentary Film Screening in Alexandria Tonight (4/13) ‘The Virgin Cure’

Tonight at 6:00 PM, Alexandria’s Commission for Women and Commission on HIV/AIDS will host the screening of the documentary film “The Virgin Cure” at the Metro Stage Theater located at 1201 N. Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia.

This film documents the link between infant and child rape in Sub Sahara Africa and its correlation to “The Virgin Cure Myth;” the belief that HIV/AIDS can be cured if the infected person has sexual contact with a virgin. Film director and Alexandria resident Nyasha Vera worked on this film to raise awareness about rape, HIV/AIDS, and the devastating aftermath.

Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided prior to the screening.
