Workshop to Kick-off the Braddock Neighborhood Park Planning Process This Saturday (5/30)

Braddock Interim Open Space - Open!
The City of Alexandria Departments of Recreation, Parks & Cultural Activities and Planning and Zoning will hold a public workshop and neighborhood walk on Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to kick-off planning for the one-acre neighborhood park within the Braddock Metro Area Plan (PDF). The workshop will be held at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, located at 901 Wythe Street in Alexandria, Virginia.

The City hired the firm of Andropogon and Associates to work with the Braddock Implementation Advisory Group and community in developing a design concept for the neighborhood park. The workshop will include a brief community walk around the site and opportunities to share and discuss ideas for the park.

Visit the Braddock Metro Neighborhood Plan Implementation project site at this link for additional information about the future of the park, including the guiding principles for design approved by the Braddock Implementation Advisory Group.

For additional information on this workshop, contact Laura Durham, Open Space Coordinator at 703.746.5493.
