Your plans for today (June 4, 2015) in Alexandria, Virginia include these events:

  • FREE ESL class at Beatley Library Free ESL “All Levels” Workshops usually held every Tuesday and Thursday of the week all month long.
  • Story time at the Alexandria Library See calendar for times and branch locations around Alexandria.
  • King Street Station Farmers Market The market will have 10-12 vendors with an emphasis on local, freshly harvested foods and baked goods. Bakers, free range meats, eggs, Amish cheese, cookies and more…. Pick something up for dinner on your way home! The site for the market is located at 1755 Duke street – the hotel/office complex called “King St Station”. This is a terrific commercial-community partnership. The market will be in the lovely fountain courtyard – easy landmark is Embassy Suites hotel on Diagonal Street – directly across from the Metro. And, 30 minutes of free underground parking for patrons!
  • Happy Hour in Alexandria See calendar for times and locations around Alexandria for food & drink specials.
  • First Thursday in Del Ray First Thursdays is a series of free outdoor street festivals along Mount Vernon Avenue in the spring and summer. Every first Thursday of the months of May, June, July, August and September the Del Ray Business Association features businesses along Mt. Vernon Avenue, special events, food and music from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Pets welcome. This month’s event benefits the MVCS Playground – come out and support Del Ray’s kids!
  • Lafayette Ball Classes In preparation for Lafayette Ball on June 13, learn 18th century English country dancing from expert dance instructors.
  • Music at Twilight Concert John Carlyle Square Park City Concert series with a performance by Darcy Dawn & Co featuring pop,rock,country,and top hits. Feel free to bring chairs or a blanket and a picnic supper.
