DelRay Tower Achieves LEED Silver Certification in Alexandria, Virginia

DelRay Tower Apartments in Alexandria, Virginia

DelRay Tower Apartments has received official notification from the U.S. Green Building Council that it has achieved LEED Silver status.

DelRay Tower Apartments, a 332-unit complex with 14,000 square feet of retail space, was developed by UDR, Inc. and designed by Lessard Design, Inc. Built by Donohoe Construction, the multifamily building incorporated eco-friendly solutions aimed to enhance the quality of life for the residents and the community. Electric car charging stations, tenant bike storage, energy efficient appliances and water conserving fixtures are a few of the “green” initiatives that were included in the project.

The LEED green building rating system is developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington D.C.-based, nonprofit coalition of building industry leaders. The accreditation system is designed to promote design and construction practices that improve sustainability. LEED-certified buildings are less costly to owners and reduce negative environmental impacts. Silver is the second level of certification in the LEED process.

Congrats DelRay Tower!
