Some Old Town parking meter times extended Those looking to drive and park in metered spaces west of Alfred Street in Old Town will have more time to browse the shops and boutiques and digest their meals at restaurants in that area of the city after city council unanimously approved a resolution to extend the time limit for metered parking from two hours to three. More on the recent Alexandria community meeting The police hosted a community meeting on July 6 at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, a little over a block from where Elliot-Tibbs was murdered. The meeting was attended by hundreds of local citizens, including Mayor William Euille. Elliot-Tibbs’ death ignited fears and tensions that many in the Braddock Road neighborhoods say have been bubbling under the surface for months or years. (Alexandria Gazette)
