  • FREE Outdoor Movie ‘Blank Check’ Join your neighbors for free movies on the waterfront on a four-story high movie screen in full HD in a beautiful outdoor setting under the stars at Waterfront Park, 1A Prince Street.   • LIVE cooking demo at the Old Town Farmers’ Market Sample tastings and recipes.
  • fibre space in Old Town is turning 6! Join fibre space in celebrating six wonderful years! Pull a knitting needle from our vase and find out what discount you receive that day – ranging from 10%-30% off! Every purchase that weekend will enter you for a prize drawing!
  • Special Family Tours of Gadsby’s Tavern Museum The more flexible tour format will allow families to start a tour as soon as they arrive and move through the museum at their own pace. Young guests will be able to connect with the museum through their peer tour guides, plus have fun with hands-on activities at the end of the tour. In late June and July, activities in the ballroom explore the science behind the historic ice well as part of National Ice Cream Month. Activities include making (and tasting) ice cream! August features activities about 18th century travel, highlighting a letter written by Thomas Jefferson outlining his route from DC to Monticello as well as art projects revolving around the theme.
  • Saturday stories at Beatley Library Perfect for kids 0-5 with an adult. Stories, songs, and lots of fun for the whole family! Join us every Saturday morning at Beatley Central Library. No tickets required.
  • Tour Friendship Firehouse Museum in Alexandria Come for an in-depth guided tour of Friendship Firehouse on Saturday, July 25, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon and learn about the company’s firefighting procedures and equipment, as well as the different roles the organization played in serving the community. Reservations required.
  • Red, White & Beagle Fundraiser The 1st annual Red, White & Beagle fundraiser will take place at River Farm in Alexandria, VA on Saturday, July 25, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
