Power Outage Update from City of Alexandria

alexandria logoDominion Virginia Power reports that 2,210 customers are currently without power in Alexandria, due to multiple power outages in Old Town. The service restoration time for most outages is early afternoon.

The Alexandria Police Department is controlling intersections where needed, mostly along Route 1. If an officer is not present at an intersection with dark traffic signals, please treat it as a four-way stop.

Residents and businesses without power should report the outage by calling 866-DOM-HELP or online at this link. That link may also be used by the public to check the status of an outage, including the number of customers affected and the estimated time for restoration.

City libraries, recreation centers, and swimming pools may be used as cooling centers during normal operating hours. A list of locations and other tips to stay safe during heat are available at this link.
