RunningBrooke is pleased to announce an important neighborhood improvement project thanks to the partnership between RunningBrooke and the City of Alexandria Parks and Recreation Department and the generous support of community partners.
It’s a neighborhood filled with children – the highest percentage of children under the age of five in the entire City of Alexandria live here, and where more than 80% are eligible for free and reduced meals.
With help from Rebuilding Together Alexandria, and the generous support of Teva Respiratory, The Brickman Group, Simpson Development, The Rotary Club of Alexandria, Rosemont Landscaping and Lawncare, and the Hume Springs Neighborhood Association, the park’s top-to-bottom makeover begins this week. The renovated park will provide a fun, safe and engaging place to play.
RunningBrooke Volunteer Build Day is September 19 when the community will be out in force to put the final touches on the park makeover. Volunteers will help plant flowers, create a butterfly garden, and build tables and benches.
