Del Ray Residential Architecture Conference – Saturday, September 19

The Del Ray Citizens Association will sponsor a Residential Architecture Conference on Saturday September 19, 2015 at Mount Vernon Community School, located at 2601 Commonwealth Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301.

The conference will feature the introduction of the Del Ray Pattern Book, which is designed to help those involved in construction to relate their projects to identified historic neighborhood patterns and styles. The Del Ray neighborhood includes the Town of Potomac Historic District – a National Register of Historic Places district since 1992.

The program to plaque historic properties in the historic district will also be explained.

  • 10:00 AM – History of Del Ray Residential Architecture
  • 10:45 AM – Art Deco & Streamline Moderne in Del Ray
  • 10:50 AM – Introduction of Del Ray Pattern Book
  • 11:20 AM – Break
  • 11:30 AM – Tools for Researching the History of Your Own Home
  • 11:45 AM – Tax Credits Available for Historic Properties
  • 12:00 PM – Del Ray Plaque Program
  • 12:10 PM – 2016 House & Garden Tour Announcements
  • 12:20 PM – Self Led Walking Tour.
