Metrorail Track Work Schedule September 18-20

Via WMATA, reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of September 18-20 with track work and service adjustments on three of six lines beginning at 10:00 PM TONIGHT (Friday) and continuing through system closing on Sunday.

This weekend, Orange, Silver and Green line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals. Red, Blue and Yellow line trains will operate every 24 minutes.

REMINDER:: This weekend, Metrorail will open at 6:00 AM on Sunday, September 20 for customers traveling to the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon.

Red Line

Trains every 24 minutes

Red Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.

Rail tie, fastener and insulator renewal for a safer ride will cause Red Line trains to share one track between Friendship Heights & Van Ness and Judiciary Square & Rhode Island Avenue stations.

Orange Line

Regular weekend service

Silver Line

Regular weekend service

Blue Line

Trains every 24 minutes

Blue Line trains will operate every 24 minutes throughout the weekend.

Rail fastener renewal will cause Blue Line trains to share one track between Braddock Road & Van Dorn St and Pentagon City and Arlington Cemetery.

Yellow Line

Trains every 24 minutes

Yellow Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Sq only. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.

Rail fastener renewal will cause Yellow Line trains to share one track between Braddock Road & Huntington and Pentagon City and L’Enfant Plaza.

Green Line
