Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon Has Been CANCELED

by Lee Hernly, Editor

This was announced earlier this morning.

After a few days of agonizing discussion, the 6th Annual Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon & 6K has officially been cancelled due to anticipated severe weather in the region in connection with the Category 4 hurricane. Whether or not Hurricane Joaquin reaches land, the “extremely dangerous” storm is predicted to bring heavy winds and flooding rains to the Washington, DC area. The race could not be re-scheduled this year due to scheduling conflicts with our nine municipalities/jurisdictions through the end of 2015. Our two-day EXPO also has been cancelled. We will have packet pickup for your t-shirts, bibs, GU and finisher medals over several days next week, with times and location to be announced. We so regret having to cancel but your life and the lives of all involved in our event – thousands of people we dearly care about – takes precedence over a road race. More information will be provided throughout today and the weekend on www.wilsonbridgehalf.com so PLEASE be patient and refrain from emailing us as we will post lots of answers here soon. THIS website is the ONLY official source of news on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Half Marathon & 6k.
