1340132607_8890_roflbotA Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from the National Weather Service for the metropolitan Washington area, including the City of Alexandria, Virginia from NOW until 10:00 PM TONIGHT (Saturday, October 3).

A Coastal Flood Advisory is issued when minor or nuisance coastal flooding is occurring or imminent. Coastal Flood Advisories are issued for coastal areas along the Tidal Potomac River and areas along the Chesapeake Bay.

* TIDAL ANOMALY…1.5 TO 2 FEET ABOVE NORMAL…INCREASING UP TO 3
FEET THIS EVENING.

* TIMING…SEVERAL HOURS AROUND HIGH TIDE THIS AFTERNOON.

* EXPECTED IMPACTS…MINOR TIDAL INUNDATION OF SHORELINE.
MODERATE INUNDATION POSSIBLE AT HIGH TIDE THIS EVENING AND
SUNDAY.
