Dolci Gelati Opening THIS Weekend in Old Town Alexandria

Dolci Gelati
UPDATED (4:59 PM): Updated the hours of operation below.

A new gelato shop Dolci Gelati is opening THIS Saturday (October 31) at 107 N. Fairfax Street in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. The first 31 customers on Saturday receive a free scoop of gelato and customers who come to the store on Halloween wearing a costume get a free small gelato!

The shop is located just across the street from Market Square right next to the Alexandria Visitor Center.

Also, the shop is the first stop on Old Town’s Ghost Tour as the building they are located in is supposedly haunted so that should make the Halloween opening even more exciting!

This is the first Virginia location for Dolci Gelati, which has shops in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, D.C. and in Takoma Park, Md as well as a food truck. Dolci Gelati was started in Washington DC in 2006, by pastry chef Gianluigi Dellaccio. Gianluigi uses an authentic Italian recipe that has been in his family for generations but mixes in local ingredients and exotic flavors to create a modern twist to a traditional Italian favorite, according to the company.

In addition to gelato, the shop will serve up shaved ice granitas, pastries, coffee and bottled drinks. The eatery has seating for about 15 to 20 people. I am told the hours are 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM on Sundays.

For more information about the store visit them on Twitter where they will be sharing more info as it gets closer to opening!
