New Startup Offering Commuter Bus Service from Old Town Alexandria

Are you frustrated with riding Metrorail? A new, local transportation startup, VirginiaCommuter.com, aims  to help fix the congestion problems in the the DC Metro area by offering a low cost commuter rush hour bus service from Old Town Alexandria, Virginia to downtown D.C. and back.

The service leaves Old Town two (2) times in the morning rush hour and leaves Washington D.C. two (2) times in the evening rush hour. The commuting time is about one (1) hour and the cost is $5.

So it costs more than Metro, takes longer than Metro, is less frequent than Metro and is more inconveniently located for most of the city than Metro.

Sounds like a winning plan.

Hey Tony, Thanks for the words of encouragement. Obviously starting a new company is a very hard and terrifying endeavor. while we would love to over more times this company is just my wife and I. We currently have one twenty-three passenger mini-bus. We run a non fixed route so we only make stops that are needed. The service we look to provide is a more reliable and a more comfortable ride than Metro. While metro is over crowded and has constant delays and braking rails and trains. Hey there Tony, Thanks for the words of encouragement. Obviously, starting a new company is a difficult and very terrifying endeavor. I was formally the Operations Manager for an IT Firm in DC. My Metro fair was 3.75 each way to Franklin Square, $7.50 round trip. for an additional $2.50 a day, we provide a guaranteed comfortable seat on our climate controlled bus that will also soon offer free WIFI to our guests.
