Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille Pens Thank You Note to Supporters

Bill Euille
Alexandria, Virginia Mayor Bill Euille, who lost his hard fought write-in campaign to Mayor-elect Silberberg last week, penned a thank you note to supporters today.

From an email:

Dear Friends,

I am writing to thank you for all of your support over the course of my campaign. While we obviously did not get the result we wanted, I am forever grateful for the many ways you supported my campaign.

From growing up in Alexandria’s public housing to becoming our city’s first African-American mayor, I have always advocated for what is best for Alexandria. Our hard-fought campaign was evidence of it, and I am proud of my team’s work.

After serving as our mayor for 12 years, I know Alexandrians will continue to strive to make our city a great place to live and raise a family.

I also want to congratulate every candidate who won this past week. I wish them the best in tackling the issues that Alexandrians face.

Thank you for all of your support,

Bill Euille
