NORAD Conducting Training Exercise Tonight In D.C. Area

If you hear something loud overhead tonight, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is conducting a training exercise over the skies of the Washington D.C. area EARLY Wednesday morning (November 18, 2015).

Training is scheduled to begin at midnight through 2:30 AM.

The exercise trains for responding to possible air threats and is comprised of a series of training flights held in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Capital Region Coordination Center, the Joint Air Defense Operations Center, Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Coast Guard and CONR.

If the weather doesn’t cooperate Wednesday morning, the exercise will be held between midnight and 2:30 AM Thursday.
