Bringing Historic Holiday Cheer to Alexandria Dec 12 & 13

Bring centuries of Holiday Cheer to your celebrations this year! The Historic Alexandria Candlelight Tour, Alexandria’s premier historic holiday event, blends three centuries of history, food, and drink through special tastings, seasonal decorations, period music, and tours highlighting festive traditions through time.
Four of Old Town Alexandria’s finest historic sites will welcome guests on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13. Each location will feature period-appropriate holiday decorations as well as a food and drink item.
This year’s tour includes:
- Carlyle House Historic Park, located at 121 North Fairfax Street,
- Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, located at 134 North Royal Street,
- Lloyd House, located at 220 North Washington Street, and
- Lee-Fendall House, located at 614 Oronoco Street.
Tour times are Saturday, December 12, 6 – 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 13, 3 – 6 p.m.
The sites may be visited in any order and stationed guides are present at each location. A free shuttle is provided running in a continuous loop between the sites. Ticket prices are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (ages 65 and older) and active military members, and $5 for children (ages 6-17). Tickets for this event can be purchased online at this link. Old Town Alexandria is served by convenient public transportation, including the free King Street Trolley. Ample public parking is available at the Tavern Square and Market Square parking garages.
