New Year’s Eve Dinner at Bastille in Alexandria

Celebrate 2016 with a four-course prix-fixe New Year’s Eve menu for $79 per person

Ringing in the New Year holds a special place in the hearts of all and for Chef Christophe Poteaux he continues his family’s traditions with his New Year’s Eve menu.  Bastille will open its doors on Thursday, December 31st at 2:00 p.m. to welcome those seeking to celebrate 2016 early or for pre-party aperitifs with Happy Hour all night until 9:00 p.m. in the bar. You may choose from a special Holiday Bar bites menu, or at 4:30pm you may select the New Year’s Eve menu either as the prix fixe or a la carte.  From 4:30 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. the New Year’s Eve menu will be available as a prix-fixe menu only in the main dining rooms. Highlights from Chef Poteaux’s New Year’s Eve menu include:

  • Jerusalem artichoke Velouté;pan roasted Foie Gras with spiced pears, Sauterne jus;
  • Smoked Salmon and Caviar galette.

Salads range from

  • crispy Pork Belly with frisée, endive and apples;
  • Rock Shrimp salad with avocado, mango and grapefruit or roasted beets and butternut squash with goat cheese, hazelnuts and arugula.

Entrée’s feature the French classic of John Dory with browned butter, lemon and capers, roasted cauliflower, peppers, dates and olives;

  • “Moullard Duck breast” five-spice sauce, celeriac mousseline or grass-fed Angus beef filet mignon “au poivre” accompanied by gratin Dauphinois, braised endives and shallots.

Desserts by Chef Michelle Poteaux channel her American roots this New Year’s Eve with her “S;more” Valrhona chocolate cake, burnt marshmallow, graham cracker ice cream; “Ananas” vanilla bean poached pineapple, Pain Perdue and coconut ice cream and one of Chef Michelle’s favorite flavor combinations “Chocolate-Pretzels-Peanuts” dark chocolate brownie, Bahibé milk chocolate mousse, caramel pretzel crunch ice cream, peanut butter crèmeux.
