Townhouse Fire Prompts Closure of Route 1 in Alexandria

Townhouse fire in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia

All lanes of North Patrick Street (Route 1 North) in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia were closed during a portion of last night’s rush hour due to a reported townhouse fire.

The incident was reported around 5:40 p.m. in a townhouse in the 100 block of North Patrick Street near the King Street corridor.

No injuries were reported.

Traffic congestion was HEAVY on Route 1 North last night as the traffic was diverted onto side streets around the response. The road closure was lifted shortly after 6:00 p.m.
