The Potomac Yard Metro Station in Alexandria, Virginia may have been added to the system last month but, it is not on the system map – yet. The planned Silver line stations are on the map but, where is Potomac Yard?
Over the next several months, residents and other stakeholders are invited to provide input on the design of the Potomac Yard Metro Station at public meetings and online via AlexEngage, as the conceptual design is developed.
Recently received comments will be discussed at the next meeting of the Potomac Yard Metrorail Implementation Work Group (PYMIG) on Thursday, January 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Charles Houston Recreation Center, 901 Wythe St. This feedback will inform the conceptual design process for the Metrorail station and amendments to the parks that are needed to build the station. The public is invited to attend all PYMIG meetings. Join the conversation at this link!
PYMIG is an ad-hoc committee consisting of community members and stakeholders. It serves as the primary forum for community engagement during the planning, design, and construction of the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station.
Regular project updates will be given to the Alexandria Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Board of Architectural Review, and City Council. The public process will be supported by a design team consisting of consultants, and staff from the City, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), and the National Park Service.
