Wind Advisory for Tuesday Night – 50 MPH gusts expected

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Alexandria, Virginia and the surrounding area from 4:00 PM TODAY (Tuesday, January 12, 2016) until 12:00 midnight tonight. 50 MPH gusts are expected late this afternoon into early evening.

MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT…

* TIMING…LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING. STRONGEST
WIND GUSTS WILL BE BETWEEN 7 PM AND 11 PM THIS EVENING.

* WINDS…WEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AROUND 50 MPH.

* IMPACTS…SCATTERED TREE AND POWER LINE DAMAGE. DIFFICULTY
DRIVING HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES.
