John Severson Family Issues Statement on Al’s Steakhouse

Al's Steak House in Del Ray

Al’s Steakhouse remains temporarily closed

This is an update to this post.

In a Facebook posting, the family of John ‘Big Al’ Severson issued the following statement:

Loyal customers and friends may have noticed that Al’s Steak House is temporarily closed following John Severson’s recent death. We appreciate the outpouring of support of both John and Al’s, and we know how many of you are ready for a steak sub.

All of us in the Severson and Al’s families want you to know that our goal is to have the restaurant open again soon. We are totally committed to carrying out John’s legacy as we work diligently behind the scenes to make that happen. John would want everything to be top notch and we want to honor his years of commitment to his customers and to Del Ray, which he dearly loved. Losing John has been tough on his family, and we are simply not able to immediately fill his shoes.

We want to thank you for your continued loyalty and support. It means a lot to us. And thank you for respecting the family’s privacy as we work to get Al’s reopened.

This continues to be a developing story…

In the meantime, if you get a minute, hit up Al’s Steaks with a ‘Like’ on Facebook and let’s show the Severson family how much Alexandria loves ’em.
