New seafood restaurant from Sweet Fire Donna’s owner ‘Mango’ Mike Anderson
According to planning documents filed TODAY with the City, a new full-service restaurant ‘OSHUN’ (an acronym for ‘Organization of Shellfish and Healthy Underwater Nutrition’), plans to open in the Carlyle neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia at 333 John Carlyle Street. We had told you about the possibility of a new restaurant here some time ago. This is a new restaurant endeavor from ‘Mango’ Mike Anderson, who owns numerous restaurants in Alexandria – Pork Barrel BBQ in Del Ray, Sushi Del Ray, and of course Sweet Fire Donna’s (also located in Carlyle).
It is unclear at this writing whether the seafood restaurant is going into the vacant space you see above at the corner of Jamieson Avenue and John Carlyle Street or, if it is taking over the vacated Pizzeria Venti space. We have contacted Mike for comment.
The restaurant plans on serving lunch and dinner and will be open from 11:00 a.m. to Midnight daily according to the documents. The restaurant will have indoor seating for 95, a full bar, oyster bar, and patio seating.
