Seen & Heard: New Souvlaki Bar in Del Ray/Potomac Yard

Souvlaki Bar coming soon to Alexandria, Virginia at 2700 Jefferson Davis Highway and E. Raymond Avenue at Tony's Corner

Potomac Yard’s new retail center Tony’s Corner, which replaced the popular Afghan Restaurant, will soon have its first tenant opening their doors. Souvlaki Bar, a new authentic Greek restaurant is opening this summer at the corner of 2700 Jefferson Davis Highway and E. Raymond Avenue in Alexandria.

The 56-seat restaurant will be offering delivery and we hear will be open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Sunday to Thursday and 7:00 am to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

The slogan for the restaurant as ‘Festive Greek’. Owners Christos Sarantis and Tom Christopoulos describe the new restaurant as ‘Greek-inspired casual dining, fresh food prepared and cooked to order on premises; beer and wine on premises, with table wait service, delivery and take-out services’ in their planning documents (PDF).

As you can see below, the restaurant is still being framed. While we wait for the new joint to open, consider giving them a like on Facebook.
