Traffic ADVISORY: USPTO Community Day in Alexandria

USPTO Community Day

Today, May 12, 2016, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) in the Carlyle neighborhood of Alexandria, Virginia will be holding their annual employee picnic (a.k.a. Community Day) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

There are thousands of USPTO employees, many of whom work from home, but many of them come to the USPTO Community Day.

The big event starts at 11:00 a.m. in front of the Madison Building. This outdoor celebration offers entertainment, a fashion show, diverse food selections, an automobile and motorcycle display, informative office exhibits, and much more including a parade of nations that are represented at the USPTO. The parade kicks off the festivities at 11:00 a.m. sharp!

The Alexandria Police will be closing the streets down around the campus so that employees and their guests can move about freely. Therefore, Dulany Street at Jamieson Ave & Ballenger Ave between John Carlyle Street and Courthouse Square will be closed down in our neighborhood from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM today.
