Alexandria Police Seek Witnesses to Cyclist-Involved Collision

Alexandria Police are investigating a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist that occurred on Thursday, May 5, 2016, near the intersection of Duke Street and West Taylor Run Parkway (see below). Taylor Run resident and bicyclist Ryan Brown was severely injured in the collision. Friends of Ryan Brown have raised more than $18,000 so far to help out the family.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., police responded to the area for a bicyclist struck by a vehicle. Initial investigation shows a black vehicle traveling east on Duke Street struck a bicyclist. The driver remained on the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Members of the Crash Reconstruction Team are investigating the incident and seek additional witnesses to the collision.
