Police Looking for Homicide Suspect in Fairfax County

A man was shot and killed early this morning in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County just south of Alexandria, Virginia and Fairfax County Police are actively searching for the gunman.

This morning, around 2:20 a.m., officers from the Mount Vernon Police District were called to the 6000 block of Richmond Highway for a report of a shot person. Officers located an unresponsive adult male in the parking lot and he was pronounced deceased by paramedics from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

Major Crimes Division detectives are actively investigating this incident as a homicide. The deceased man has been identified as Tarreece John Sampson, 24, of Alexandria. Mr. Sampson is an employee of the Fairfax County Public Schools. Next of kin has been notified.

They are asking for the public’s assistance in seeking any information in regards to this case.
